Why should I go green?

Living Green

When I first starting hearing the term "Go green" I thought this was some new marketing scheme. A new way for the consumers to be trendy in a time of environmental doom. Soon every big business and magazine headlined with all the new go green efforts and sustainability initiatives. The company I work for started developing sustainability practices and we immediately saw opportunities on how we managed our waste. Soon there was cost saving practices that were making us more profitable and a more efficient company.
By attempting to recycle every part of our companies waste we found a way to regain lost profit. With the some of the regained money we started converting to more energy efficient building materials and equipment. Less of a carbon footprint and more profit well I am hooked.
Now the really tuff part, get my family to change their bad habits and become more environmental friendly without going nuts. Every one knows that if you demand a certain behavior from people who are not use to change it can cause much resistance. The secret is education on going green so that others want to change for the better. You need to want something for you to truly keeps yourself in check and accomplish a goal. Your family needs to see the results of other households that have implemented go green practices. I found a great deal of information and bought some amazing books on this website about living green and go green tips.We tried the simple stuff first and were extremely proud to be doing something good for our environment. Living green and going green are too different things. Living green means that it is part of your life. Going green means that may be the direction your heading. Please change how we leave this planet for children and the generations to come
